Beef Working Group

Objectives

The Beef Working Group emerged as the natural progression of the Interbeef WG, with an updated mandate and responsibilities. It represents the next stage in the evolution of the Interbeef WG, now operating under an expanded and updated mandate for the following tasks:

  • Enable ICAR members to collaborate and share knowledge on beef recording and genetic evaluation.
  • Maintain and promote global guidelines for recording performance and other beef‑related data.
  • Conduct and publish international surveys on beef recording and genetic evaluations.
  • Develop and promote standards for routine international genetic evaluations forming the basis of Interbull’s user‑pays service to ICAR members.
  • Coordinate global research and development on the use of genomic information in beef cattle breeding.
