Animal Data Exchange Working Group

Objectives

  1. Provide a forum for members of ICAR to collaborate, exchange information and learn from each other on all aspects of exchanging data between animal recording devices and recording databases.
  2. Maintain, update, promote and extend universal guidelines and standards for the exchange of data between animal recording devices and recording databases worldwide.
  3. Conduct and report the results of periodic international surveys on practices for
    exchanging data between recording devices and databases.
  4. Develop, and promote systems and standards for: data exchange, data certification and data validation, which will form the basis of a service that ICAR will provide to members of ICAR on a user-pays basis.
  5. Facilitate and co-ordinate international collaboration in all aspects of animal data exchange, with relevant groups including; ISO, UN-CEFACT, and Smart Dairy Farming.

Workshop on ADE Standard – 28 May 2025

A workshop was organized by the ICAR Animal Data Exchange Working Group on May 28th, 2025. The workshop was entitled “How to implement the ICAR Animal Data Exchange (ADE) standards in your organization”.

To encourage broader participation, the ICAR Animal Data Exchange (ADE) Working Group offered the workshop at two different times (10:00 and 22:00 CET). The workshop presented the standards defined by the ADE Working Group, a set of guidelines developed by ICAR to support consistent and interoperable data sharing across the global livestock sector.
