Interbeef Evaluations User Group

Objectives

The Interbeef Evaluations User Group is a Group of ICAR dedicated to developing and promoting national and international evaluations of beef and dairy‑beef cattle, with services built on participating organizations that share phenotypes and pedigree information to support these evaluations.  The Interbull Centre in Uppsala, Sweden, delivers these services to members, and the current network includes 14 countries and five breeds—Charolais, Limousin, Simmental, Angus and Hereford—representing a total of 42 million phenotypes.
Beyond its core evaluation activities, the group also fosters collaboration among national genetic evaluation centres, encourages harmonization of data standards, and supports research initiatives aimed at improving genetic progress and sustainability in the beef sector.
Through regular meetings, technical exchanges, and coordinated development projects, the Interbeef Evaluations User Group strengthens international cooperation and ensures that participating countries benefit from cutting‑edge methodologies, robust benchmarking, and a shared commitment to advancing cattle breeding worldwide.
The services to the members are then offered by the Interbull Centre, based in Uppsala, Sweden. The current membership includes now 14 countries, 5 breeds (Charolais, Limousin, Simmental, Angus and Hereford), with a total of 42 million phenotypes in our services.
