Notice of Nomination: Ana Granados Appointed General Manager of ICAR
The Board of Directors of the International Committee for Animal Recording (ICAR) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ana Granados as the organisation’s new General Manager, effective January 2026.
Ana brings 25 years of experience in the livestock sector, with a strong track record in leadership, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement. Her career spans positions related to animal breeding, reproduction, and farming in Belgium and the EU. She is currently the director of EFFAB and FABRE TP, EU business and scientific organisations representing animal breeders and researchers in animal genetics at the EU level. Her experience gives her a comprehensive perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing sustainable animal production.
She has extensive experience in organisational management and development, having led teams in member-based organisations, coordinated strategic initiatives, and overseen financial and operational planning in multi-stakeholder environments. Ana is known for her inclusive leadership style, strategic thinking, and ability to foster collaboration across diverse groups. She has contributed to innovation and quality assurance in animal breeding and reproduction technologies, and has played a key role in promoting research and policy dialogue within the sector.
Ana holds a Master’s degree in Animal Agriculture Science from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and has completed various technical and management training programs. She is multilingual and proficient in digital tools and platforms, including emerging AI technologies.
As General Manager, Ana will work closely with the ICAR Board, lead the ICAR Team and working groups, and engage with members and partners to deliver high-value services and guidelines that support sustainable livestock production worldwide.
