The Benefits of Associate Membership

Before the changes to the Statutes and By-laws in 2006 manufacturers and other farmer-related service providers were unable to receive official recognition within ICAR. This philosophy stemmed from the original concepts of ICAR which revolved around traditional herd recording and genetic evaluation activities and the organisations which carried them out. The changes brought about by technology, competition, financial structures, farming methods, markets and cultures, regulation and legislation impinge on all who have anything to do with agriculture. ICAR recognizes these changes and that it is not immune to them. The change in policy is designed to bring together, or encompass, all those who embrace the ICAR objectives to mutual benefit.

The benefits to commercial organisations, or companies, in Associate Membership are:

  •  To be able to participate in ICAR activities in their own right..

  • To have the opportunity to have input into ICAR policy development at all levels.

  • To have the opportunity to meet decision-makers and influencers on an international basis, both of developing and more mature markets.

  • To have preferential access to display and presentation opportunities at ICAR gatherings with attendant national and international publicity.

  • To be able to utilize their ICAR membership in corporate marketing and sales.

  • To access special rates at ICAR events, including Annual General meetings.
